Another Version of the Truth - Las Vegas

So so super bad ass. At last, the final part of Another Version of the Truth, the three piece fan-made DVDs documenting NIN's 2008 Lights in the Sky Tour has been released.

• "Another Version of the Truth : Vegas"

In my opinion the Vegas DVD best represents what the people at TOIOU were trying to get across. The rawness of the audio and video are so compelling.

The Gift was just too polished for my taste, because it was sound board audio and 1080p video. Material gathered by Trent&co. but unfortunately scrapped due to legal hi-jinks. Only to be released for the masses by Reznor via a 400G torrent. The Bonus Material release was something for the geeks to jerk to. Vegas, on the other hand was you and me fucking around, breaking the rules and rebelling against the norm. Love it.

GHOSTS I-IV Ultra-Deluxe Limited Edition [dissecting]

A couple of weeks ago Trent & Co. found some leftover Ultra-Deluxe Limited Edition of their GHOSTS I-IV album. I jumped all over this and scored one before they almost instantly sold out again. Now, I unwrap.

• Deluxe Edition, which includes 2 CDs, a DVD-ROM of multitrack files, Blu-ray Disc of the album featuring a 96khz/24bit digital mix of the album as well as a slideshow, and hardcover 48-page booklet in a black fabric slipcase
• Ultra-Deluxe Limited Edition, which includes everything in the Deluxe Edition, as well as the album on a 4-part 180 gram vinyl edition and two Giclée prints. This version is limited to 2500 copies, each of which is numbered and signed by Reznor himself. Although it was initally expected that this edition would take a while to sell out, it was announced on March 4, 2008 that all 2500 copies had been sold.

Until I find an appropriate setting for this masterpiece to hang it's hat, it resides on my bookcase with Freddy at the guard.

LA here I come!

Today the tickets to the last[that's what she said] NIN shows went on presale/sale today and I had my sights set on Chicago. I went to nin.com but it was harder to get into than a Catholic nun. By the time the server let me in the shows were sold out. So I decided on trying to get LA.

I was trying for Sunday at the Echo Plex while Maria tried for The Wiltern on Saturday. REFRESH REFRESH ...etc. Maria finally cracked that bitch. Now I'm off to LA to say goodbye to one of the bands that has been an inspiration to me since I was thirteen. Hella grateful.

I am going to try my damnest to attend one of these. Even if I don't I am so happy that Trent realized the gayness that the NINJA tour was being that it was suppose to be his farewell tour. Fans rejoice.
